| http://www.foreignaffairs.org/20081001faessay87603/barnett-r-rubin-ahmed-rashid/from-great-game-to-grand-bargain.htmlCheck out the latest issue of Foreign Affairs and it's article on how best to end the chaos in Afghanistan and Pakistan and fight the war on terror. Talk about an almost impossible task. I finished the article and I have to confess I sat back in near despair and thought about how hard it would be to actually get this area under control. But I am comforted by how many times in human history we have met challenges that seemed insurmountable and made good out of them. Happy reading, Garrettchi ;-) | |

| The delegate of Afghanistan will not blame the ones who might have lost their faith. Despair is understandable at this stage. However rely on the Lord, the most Graceful and do not let hopelessness take over.
Today, Afghan and Pakistani security lack: - Skills, - Equipment, - Motivation to confront the growing insurgencies.
The proposals for improving the security situation focus on: - Sending additional international forces, - Building larger national security forces in Afghanistan, - Training and equipping Pakistan's security forces - Advancing reconstruction, - Development, - Good governance, - Counternarcotics efforts - Building effective police - Justice systems
If these proposals are accepted, we will indeed achieve peace and security! Yes we can! God Bless All. إله يبارك أنت | |

| delegate, be sure that the American delegation will be supportive to your resolutions. Also take into consideration what the delegate of the USA said about increasing cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan on the border. Also, I would like to say that the US has numerous counternarcotic plans to Afghanistan, that suffers from terrible statistics of opium production, and that's why I am looking forward to diminishing such deplorable statistics, and hope that interesting plans for counternarcotics, as well as to the entire securioty situation around the borders, are presented on the MUN Thank You, delegate of the United States | |

| Thank you for the support fellow delegate of the USA! Afghanistan is looking forward to see more cooperation from the other nations too. Afghanistan truly believes that if all nations work together, peace and stability will be finally achieved in both nations, Pakistan and Afghanistan, not only regarding terrorism, but also the overwhelming opium poppy cultivations. | Hello Delegates! The Georgian Delegation in truly looking forward to emphasizing on the War on Terror considering its great importance in order to establish peace and security in countries in the middle east and countries all around the world as well. The Georian delegate would like to remind all of you of how it has been willing to help the missions in Iraq, considering the troops it has sent there. Nevertheless, Georgia has been obligated to remove 2,000 troops from Iraq in order to try and combat Russian troops that currently break our sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is an example of the Georgian- Russian war's extent. That being said, the Georgian Delegate looks forward to both end with the atrocities committed by Russia and separatists against Georgia and, at the same time, help the War on Terror. Gmadlobt, The Georgian Delegation | |

| Salam fellow delegate of Georgia! First of all the delegate of Afghanistan would like to thank Georgia for its support in relation to ending terrorism. Furthermore delegate, Afghanistan is looking forward to have Georgia’s support in the proposal of eradicating the opium poppy production. Unfortunately, 90% of the opium spread around the world comes from Afghanistan. In addition to that, the exorbitant amount of money that comes out of the trafficking is being used by terrorists groups hiding in the Afghan-Pakistani borders. Last but not least, in relation to the conflict Georgia is passing through, Afghanistan would like to state its most truthful support towards its national sovereignty. إله يبارك أنت | |
