I'm a freshman. Both of us are. This simulation is my first. You?

I just read your new message and yes, china is trying to denuclearize DPRK. This article agrees.
http://www.america.gov/st/peacesec-english/2008/February/20080226124748dmslahrellek0.6961786.html

You still haven't answered my question about the insane act. I assume you were talking about DPRK's nuclear program. Anyway, what would DPRK do without it's nuclear program in regards to finance? Without it, DPRK would, as Chiara said:
Quote :
damage its economy even more and completely extinguish one of the few resources the country has. ... North Korea will starve to death and this is not the goal that the International Community wants to achieve.

you already said that chiara said blablabla, damage your ecosystem and starvation, but your counttry is dying of starvation anyway. North Koreans are dying because of food shortages in rural areas, and a massive famine is just a matter of time. The food situation was as bad as the famine that hit the country in the mid-1990s, which left as many as 2 million people dead!

Fellow delegate of North Korea!
Regardless the fact that according to the World Food Programme, the “DPRK continues to suffer widespread food shortages. Severe economic problems, limited arable land, lack of agricultural machinery…” http://www.wfp.org/country_brief/indexcountry.asp?country=408 North Korea insists on maintaining its nuclear program active. Doesn’t the delegate see that it is harming the nation more that helping it? Didn’t North Korea suffer with severe sanctions as a consequence of its nuclear program? The controversial part in the issue is that countries like the USA, South Korea, Japan, China and Russia “agreed to provide an array of diplomatic and economic benefits, including a proviso that North Korea be removed from Washington's list of state sponsors of terror.” (http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1844181,00.html) Therefore, North Korea should be thankful and stop its nuclear program immediately. However, the DPRK refuses to take such a step. If the nations concern in an alternative source of energy in order to improve the economy, the nations mentioned above already promised to solve North Korea’s economical problem!!! By refusing this proposal, however, the DPRK suggest that there is a bigger reason to maintain its nuclear power program... What are North Korea’s true intentions? What is the harm North Korea is planning to do to against the International Community?

Delegate of Germany!
How much insensibility from your side! Going straight to accusations without any in depth research on the reasons North Korea had to maintain its nuclear power. Yes, the delegate of Afghanistan is aware of the fact that nations, including the USA, South Korea, Japan, China and Russia “agreed to provide an array of diplomatic and economic benefits, including a proviso that North Korea be removed from Washington's list of state sponsors of terror.” However, these nations didn’t maintain their promise. It is a shame that this noncompliant countries keep a responsible and honorable appearance in front of the International Community while the victim North Korea has to deal with false accusations from negligent countries such as Germany. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea stated that the nation had disabled 80% of its main nuclear set up, but that the six countries involved in disarmament talks had made only 40% of the energy shipments they had promised initially. According to the North Korean Economy Watch: “North Korea said it would move to the next phase of the denuclearization process, abandoning and dismantling its nuclear weapons programs, only when it has been awarded all the energy and political benefits it had been promised.” (http://www.nkeconwatch.com/category/dprk-organizations/state-offices/ministry-of-foreign-affairs/) Therefore, fellow delegate of Germany, if the delegate really feels like blaming someone for North Korea’s nuclear power, direct your concern to the truly responsible ones but not a nation seeking peace and development. Unfortunately, most nations are not aware of the true side of the story because there are many powerful countries that try to hide the inconvenient truth. However Afghanistan in here to show to all nations that North Korea has been treated as a toy in the hands of the hypocrite powers. إله يبارك أنت

how can the delegate of afghanistan say this when China is North Korea's "most important ally, biggest trading partner, and main source of food and fuel"? China is strictly against North Korea's nuclear program, for, unlike China, NK restricts IEIA inspections and undergoes ballistic missiles tests, which, by the way, destabilizes not only the country itself, but the WHOLE REGION, but China still is the one, along with the USA, to support North Korea economically, lets not forget that delegate. We have been keeping our promises, or else North Korea would be facing an economic crisis at the moment. The one who is not complying is the country who should be nuclear free at this point.

Less Nukes More Peace

Delegates, all of you should have countered this information, as it is fake...

Drry caio i just went on this forum i wil enlighten you with information

Quote :

– Belarus had 81 single warhead missiles stationed in their territory after the Soviet Union Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. They were all returned to Russia by 1996. Belarus signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

– Kazakhstan inherited 1,400 nuclear weapons from the Soviet Union, and returned them all to Russia by 1995.

- Ukraine inherited about 5,000 nuclear weapons when it became independent from the USSR in 1991, making its nuclear arsenal the third-largest in the world. By 1996, Ukraine had voluntarily disposed of all nuclear weapons within its territory, transferring them to Russia.

Fellow delegate of China,
The Afghan delegate is aware that China is a big trading partner of North Korea. Afghanistan is also pleased to see that China has been aiding North Korea. However the promises that China made together with the other nations were not completely kept and that’s the reason why North Korea was not able to end its nuclear program. The aid given was not sufficient and that is the reason why North Korea is indeed facing economical crisis. On one hand, North Korea is under the fear of sanctions. On the other hand, it cannot give off its nuclear program because its economy will get even worse. Fellow delegate of China, let’s all try to cooperate more efficiently with North Korea. India would like to present complete oposition toward North Korea´s nuclear power. A country not only very involved in regional and not regional conflicts, with a dictator government, that represent a threat to the world peace, and order. We, the republic of India, would like to show its complete support in helping the country with the development of a secondary source of energy in order to end its nuclear program. hasta la vista lol!

Fellow delegate of India!
Afghanistan is pleased to see that India is concerned with regional security and that it is willing to aid North Korea in order to stop its nuclear program. Afghanistan is aware that North Korea was actually willing to stop its program, but the only reason why it didn’t, was because the aid given was not enough to guarantee the country’s economic stability. Therefore, if India and the other nations mentioned previously such as China, USA, South Korea, Japan and Russia manage to provide a full aid to the nation, North Korea will surely consider the proposal. إله يبارك أنت
