Here are some arguments within the UN's Responsibility to Protect framework for why it is ok to sometimes violate national sovereignty to control nuclear proliferation and fight terror. Happy reading!

Thank you for this article Ms. Garrett!
“The unprecedented threat posed by terrorists and rogue states armed with weapons of mass destruction cannot be handled by an outdated and poorly enforced nonproliferation regime. The international community has a duty to prevent security disasters as well as humanitarian ones -- even at the price of violating sovereignty.” It is true and the delegate of Afghanistan agrees with it. Keep in mind that nations were not supposed to be proving to one another and to the International Community how good and proud they are when trying to solve internal issues alone. One may argue that it is shameful to request aid, however what is in fact shameful is the not recognition of weakness. Therefore when one is not able to solve issues alone it automatically looses power and credibility forcing others to take stronger measures including the brake in national sovereignty. It is Machiavellian but minor causes do not matter if the eradication of terrorism is accomplished. إله يبارك أنت
