| Hello delegates! Scarcity of water has been a severe problem in Africa. One of the main issues being blamed is global warming. An example would be Lake Chad, which lessened already 90% of its usual volume. The population of coutnries in Africa that are being affected are dying and the majority only have access to contaminated water, causing diarrhea. The fishermans are now without money to sustent their family. The population is being affected in different and harsh ways.
The problem is growing and getting worst.

| Hello, The delegate of Zimbabwe would like to say that water crisis is one of the causes to the high death rates in Africa. In ETHIOPIA for example, where 60 Fahrenheit is the medium temperature, Only 22% of the population has access to an improved water supply, and only 13% of the population has access to adequate sanitation services. In the rural areas, this numbers decrease even more. In the last 20 years, Ethiopia has experienced recurring droughts followed by food shortages and famines. This cause can even lead to child labor. How? In ETHIOPIA the major population will get water from shallow wells. Who will built this wells? Who will bring the large clay jugs of water back to the village, which weights pounds? Water crisis needs to be solved Zimbabwe | |

In Zimbabwe many are suffering due to cholera. the majority of the water is not clean nor potable. all African nations must unite in order to reach a solution for the water issue that affect mostly all African nations.

| The issue on water is now a main one all around the world. You guys have been talking about the water crisis in Africa, but shouldn't you also take a look at the rest of the world? After all, it would be an interesting topic to discuss with other countries. There are countries which have been trying to take resources away from other countries, and that could generate discussion. Take a look at that. | |

| As the delegates might know, water shortages is manily caused because of global warming. China and Unites States are the main polluters of the world, and together they are responsible for more than one third of the Co2 emissions worldwide. | |

| Only 2.5% of the world's water is not salty, but two thirds of it is frozen up in glaciers and ice caps. Of that, 20% is in remote areas, and most of it arrievs as the forms of monsoon and floods.
Humans have available about 0.08% of the world's water but still, experts believe that, on the next 2 decades, our use is estimated to increase in 40%.
Another study made by the World Water Council studied the population growth in the world and its relation to water use in agriculture. The research showed that, today, we use 70% of the ater we have in agriculture but that, by the year of 2020, the use of water must increase 17%, in order to feed the world's population.
Today, over 1,340,000,000 people have no access to clean, "drinkable water" and one person in 2 has no proper sanitation.
As each day goes by, the world population grows while fresh water basins deplete. Measures must be taken right away. Souh Africa is willing to help, not only the African nations but the world community if possible. THis resolution must pass.

| Salam fellow delegates of Africa! First of all, the delegate of Afghanistan noticed that the delegates discussing the topic, including the others who support the proposal, have not mentioned any resolution to the problem. Afghanistan's previous post was not answered, which is a shame since Afghanistan really would like to participate in this fight against water shortages. Second of all, Afghanistan noticed that the page is entirely filled with posts by the African nations. Afghanistan appreciates the regional cooperation, however Africa needs multilateral support!! State the various African nations' positions on the other caucuses, using the opportunity to state your proposals, asking for International engagement. We are United Nations! إله يبارك أنت | |

| Delegate Chiara, Sorry for not answering your questions. I have been abstent some days, now I am back.
We researched this cause in Lake Chad, that is really affecting african citizens that only live with its water, as well as the countries that share the lake;Nigeria, Cameroon, and Niger. For Lake chad we have been researching other close places for water, so that its people can have access to water.
We also researched the health problems, sanitation that is one of the causes for bad water that have been killing some many people.
Now we are including the issue around the world in our resolution. If you want to give some suggestions, we would love to hear them. =]

| Hello Delegates! The whole world suffers of water crisis, specially the non-developed countries. One out of six people do not have access to safe drinking water and that is 1.1 billion people, and more than two out of six lack access to sufficient sanitation, which is 2.6 billion people. An example would be the Himalayan glaciers which are the sourced of the biggest rivers in Asia. Reports say that it could disappear in 2035 as temperatures rise, so India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar could have floods. | |

| The Democratic Republic of Congo believes that water should be considered a right for every human. On June 5th, 2008, president Kabila stated in a TV interview: “The world should be aware of this: African children are dying every day because of lack of water. I totally agree that water should be a right for every human, but it is very hard to accomplish this dream when people are constantly polluting our sources of water.” Even though lack of water is not a major problem in Congo, the government is willing to help as much as it can on the treatment of fresh drinkable water in Chad. | |

| Dear delegates of the African Caucus
The delegation of Somali would like to inform that each year, about two million people die in Africa due to lack of water, in most cases children.
The Somali delegation seconds that potable water is a must for all people in all nations, Therefore water must be easily accessible and free for all, unfortunately that is not happening in the majority of African nations. Another issue that is blamed for causing the water crisis (besides the already mentioned global warming) is the warlords actions.
These warlords (or waterlords) use armed forces to take control of public water holes, leaving civilians to drink non-potable water, and likely to get diseases. actions should be done to halt the waterlords.
The Somali delegate believes that UN troops must be sent to aid local government army in combat against waterlords. Enabling civilians to get water from the public holes.

| The delegate of Syria would like to establish its support towards Chad’s resolution. As the delegate already knows, water crisis is a universal problem which is affecting about 1.1 billion people. The Syrian delegate would like to know the measures Chad is planning to take to diminish the predominance of this issue and how does Chad desire to make this plan work. Syria would like to restate that it is in favor of this resolution. | |

| Salam fellow delegates of the African caucus, At first sight it might seem a little bit banal however it is of extreme importance. When all solutions seem to have failed and all measures seem to have been in vain, try to find responses in nature itself. There is a special type of beetle that can be the answer to the water shortages. This beetle has a special kind of shell that somehow attracts little water droplets from the air. When the water accumulates, it runs down the beetle’s back, straight to the head. The shape of the beetle’s back drives the water directly in to the insect’s mouth, therefore it is never thirsty. Wouldn’t it be interesting to invest in scientific research in order to discover some sort of material that might collect the humidity of the air and condense it just as this special beetle? إله يبارك أنت | |
