Alright fellow delegate of the USA,
Afghanistan will ponder about the delegate’s proposal. Remember that Afghanistan is not trying to attack the USA, also because it is thankful for the aid it has been giving to the nation since the civil war. Afghanistan is only trying to, together with the USA, find the more effective solution, creating less harm as possible. Let’s hope for the best and that the International Community will be able to choice what is indeed the best solution. Salam, إله يبارك أنت

Fellow delegates,

The delegation of South Africa is not sure if the delegations are aware of the proposal in South Africa's resolution. It is proposed a parlamentary and presidential election supervised by the United Nations to guarantee freedom of the vote to ensure that the elections are indeed fair by 2009. However, South Africa urges for the lift of the economic sanctions in Zimbabwe which are, directly and indirectly causing harm to the people. Delegates, Zimbabwe needs help, not sanctions.

regards

delegate of South Africa,
The US is completely in favor of new elections supervised by the UN.
regarding the sanctions, I believe that any answer and any possible conclusion regarding this factor can be found in previous posts. I will not repeat my self for the nth time, so take a look back in other posts, I believe my point has been made clear in previous posts.

Thank you
delegate of the USA

France is very concerned with the on-going political crisis in Zimbabwe and for this reasons it is willing to take necessary measures to enhance the situation. However, based on the previous posts, France will have to agree with USA delegation on the fact that sanctions should be held until the government show more concrete evidence that a permanent solution is being held. France indeed is very optimistic with the power sharing deal signed by the two parties in September, however it seems that such agreement has been failing to work as the opposition parties, Zanu-PF ad the MDC, have been continually fighting over the ministries. According to a recent report, the dispute between the ministries is leading to the treaty’s failure. For this reason, France believes that the situation is not yet resolved. Until the government shows complete aptitude to rule the failed state, France and the EU will continue with the choice of sanctions. France takes back what the US delegate has previously stated, removing the sanctions before the "right time" will only risk worsening the crisis since the political pressure would cease. France totally supports and encourages a democratic election and hopes that it is held ASAP. But until there, we believe that sanctions will avoid the government of taking more radical and non-diplomatic measures.
Merci.
